I always heard that VW has terrible quality in the states because it is built in Mexico (specifically electrical problems). The same stories say that a VW that is from Germany is grade A quality...as if though it's a different manufacturer. Do you all think this is true? Also, how difficult is it to import a car cost wise? Does that also mean youre stuck with driving in what would be the passenger side here?

It's a huge pain in the ass to import cars individually.

Continental Europe drives the same as we do.

good luck getting a euro (or any other) spec car imported to the US. There are so many minute differences between the regulations of the respective companies that you will most likely never be able to satisfy them regardless of what you do. I dont remember many specifics, but I read an article a while back (I believe from Motive), and the take-home message was, 'forget about it.'

I cant imagine it would, unless we're talking hand-built cars.
