Maybe that's because APSX and Excel have nothing in common.

It would help if you could provide ANY kind of detail regarding what you're starting with, and what you're trying to turn it into.

I am starting with a webpage that has data I want.. it is an aspx?sport=2&date=11/3/2007&select_type=1&t=0 extension and the import web data in excel comes back with connection was made but no data was available but I can see the site if I am in firefox, etc.

I would like to import this data so I can analyze it on other sheets (this I already know how to do and what to do) but I just can't seem to get the data into excel?

Any suggestions on how to do this automatically?

no... don't think so... if you PM me I can show you teh website, I don't want to post the full thing in here though. Basically it is a sports website with data tables I would like to import and it just isn't working like all the other sites I have imported before this ...

Giving me this problem about connection was made but data was unavailable..

    :dunno:

If it's displaying the data in a table format, you can probably just highlight the data on the page and copy/paste it into Excel. It won't be perfect, but it should be close enough to be workable.
