im gonna assume that the demo of this board hasnt changed that much, and there will still be some guys that had a clue of the import scene....

but ya, i remember, when it was cool when yoo had a greddy exahust and an rs akimoto intake.....and kanji stickers were cool.....heck, ram air was only custom ram air with dryer duct from the hardware store.....

i remember doing my own sidemarkers in my driveway with a rotary tool that i bought from kmart....

and how about painting your dash....

and remember when painting your car pink wasnt cool yet?

    :)

cut springs and "reversed" rims on a 2nd gen civic hatch.

only because there were no "import parts" back in the late 80's.

ya and we would rent a spring compressor fromt he auto parts store.....loosen the assembly and throw the assembly inyo a box and run away so that we dont get hit by everything flying around!

thats how we disassembled struts back then

we'd wrap them up in pillows and step on the end of the strut... use an air wrench to pop off the nut and let 'er rip across the street.

it was all fun and games until we misjudged one and took out the neighbor's car with the spring.

you shoulda seen us trying to put the unsecured struts back on... slap it together and lower the car.

and pray the top of the strut piston didnt puncture the strut mounting tower. :hs:

    damn.

all we had was nothing. i still remember the RS Akimoto intake when it came out. :wtc:

i also remember making intakes from K&N filters and crap from Lowe's... and gaining a whopping 200000000000 decibels on the ass-dyno when combined with the Schucks/Kragen Cherry Bomb glasspack.

    oh man....

one day, i walked into my local shop......the guy behind the counter threw some pink greddy harness pads at me....he said "some guy came in with these and wanted to trade them for ANYTHING......i gave him a different pair of harness covers and figured that yoo would want these...."

also en vogue were chrome rocker panels and wheel well trim.

wheel spacers were "da bomb" when matched up with tyres about 30mm too thin and stretching them on the stock steelies to get the "ghetto low-pros" look.
