but I wanted to go to bed 2 hours ago
I got it from http://www.bestbuy.com
DVDShrink/DVDdecrypter + Nero > *
I open the program.. select what titles.. preview them if I want. I pick if I want to compress to one disc or split it to two.. if split I tell it where (visually).. and that's it.
so for this disc I opened it, selected title, enabled compression, clicked OK
and I have it reading from my dvd-rom and burning to the dvdrw.. so I don't even have to touch it til it's done.
I wasn't aware they worked together like that.
still.. this figures out the compression automatically to fit it onto the disc.. and it literally takes 3 clicks
So does DVDShrink and if it's single layer DVDdecrypter does it in one shot and in much less time
sounds like they vastly improved the features on the program. dvdxcopy platinum is what i started out with, and you couldn't do much at all... plus i started to get title errors. dvd shrink offered tons more flexibility so i switched to that.
You can literally open DVD Shrink, click backup, check the "Perform Deep Analysis" box to improve quality, then hit OK. It lets you save the files to your HD or burn directly to a DVD. I prefer to mess with the settings a bit first: removing director commentary/foreign language tracks, and lowering the quality on extras to increase the quality of the main movie. Keeps all the menus intact and everything. DVDXCopy is a piece of shit.
DVD Shrink 2.3 had terrible quality, but it's greatly improved in 3.x. With direct burn support added, DVD shrink is now completely unstoppable unless you want the absolute best quality possible, in which case you should do a 2 Pass VBR encode in tmpgenc.
dvdshrink 3.1.4 user...
i tried DVDXCopy...that is pure shit...
dvd x copy isn't for single layer.. it's for taking just the movie portion of a 2 layer disc and burning it to dvd.. no menus or anything.
Which DVD shrink can easily do as well.
I never said it didn't. I never said I'd used it.
I just said dvd x copy did it very well and with great ease.
ease up on the sackriding.
how do you make a copy of the copy?? damn gays, they make it so you can copy any copy-protected dvd but then they add there own damn protection :irony: smile would be great here...
btw my dvd x copy platinum can burn menus?you say it doenst?
I didn't think it did. my first one isn't done yet.
I'll know in a little bit. maybe it does.
it burns everything as long as you select everything and it compresses the vid quality. so basically, they compress it to apprx 70% what i would do is select to compress only the extras/deleted scenes/trailors/etc so the quality of the actual movie itself would be around 100
Netflix.com + DVD X Copy Platinum = win
Netflix + anything but that pos dvdxcopy = win
It depends on who you are. If you don't care about having much control over things, dvdxcopy works fine. I'm a person that likes to mess with things, so dvdxcopy doesn't work for me.
I'm talking about you being a bitch.. not about your program preference.
I'm gonna be authoring my own menus and such probably for most of my dvds.. but it's nice to know what programs work well at certain things.
Why am I a bitch
cause I said so. and cause you're being gay.
