Anybody have any articles or studies that say this?
I would say that depends on what you're talking about though. Pullups>*.lat exercise.
tell that to gymnasts
use just about any f&n'ers log
people here are either too fucking fat to do body weight exercises or they are "powerlifters"
Wut about mah thugggggggg workoutz
why the pler hate
I see it in alot of threads
there are only like 8-10 of us on the board
It's not really PLer hate I don't think hommie. I think it's all the bandwagoneergroupie fag PLer hate.
what is false strength?
ive got nothing respect for those of you who are actually PLer's i think its an awsome thing that you guys do. its those people who are fat fucks and figure "hay, im fat as fuck already, i like to eat and i want to be strong, ill be a powerlifter"
that I understand
you are talking about doing bodyweight exercises as in just your body right? pushups and what not? Not exercises using your bodyweight like squatting with your bodyweight on the bar.
I'd say there are more examples of it building strength then not.
im just saying that be able to do a lot of push-ups doesn't correlate with your bench press numbers or anything, right?
Gymnasts are more concerned about actually being strong than looking like it.
I read somewhere that the average gymnast can bench twice his body weight the first time he goes to the bench!
not unless you have a hard time doing 1-5 pushups
I agree with that....
in my opinion if you have not competed or training for a comp within the next year you are just a gym rat
it will be one year between my meets
yea but you have already let it all hang out on the platform
edit: so if you have competed and take a year or so off from training you are still a PL'er.....but if you are "training" for your first comp in 2-3 years you are jsut a gym rat in my eyes
Being a gym rat is better than being a couch potato.
this is from the coach of the US junior gymnastics team.
