I drive an '89 Honda Prelude 2.0Si right now. 135 BHP. I added I/H/E with some nice wheels and strut tower bars, along with a full sound system.

It started rusting, after 14 years... and I realized I can afford a new car.

The Tib is $18,000, and looks sharp. A little underpowered, but I don't need an extremely fast car. They run 15.4 in the 1/4. My prelude ran 16.5, after all of the mods.

I plan on putting intake, headers and exhaust on it, and thats about all. Maybe a suspension upgrade, or wheels... but it looks sharp as is. Hell, it may even get into 14s with I/H/E.. which wouldn't be bad in my eyes.

10 year/100,000 mile warranty. Reliability now equal to honda, and just under Toyota. Seems like Hyundai is getting their shit together, and making some decent cars now. I wouldn't have EVER considered one 3 years ago, but now... I think I may change my mind.

    Here's a couple of pictures:

I dunno which color I'm going to get, but either way, its a pretty sharp looking car.

Give your comments, opinions, ideas, or whatever you feel like saying about the car.... I just want some input.

Not a bad looking car, but I still wouldn't trust Hyundai. They get into the mid 14s with intake and full exhuast. If you wanna spend a little more, get a Rex. you can get em for about 4k more if you negotiate...plus they have 0.0%apr on all 04's.

I love the fact that Hyundai OVERRATED the power output in the V6 to 170 hp. Isn't it really around 155-160 hp at the crank?

    Thanks guys! :bigthumb:

I understand "They look good... but its a HYUNDAI."

But, with the warranty, if it falls apart, FIXED.

I don't really like the Rex at all. Also, its out of my price range.

The drop top is $2,000 more. Not a bad choice. Any ideas when it's coming out? I may just drive my prelude around in winter, and get the Tib in spring.... hmm....

    FWD.

I live in Buffalo, with snow. RWD is out of the question for a new car. I dont have it in my budget for a winter car as well

I had a '93 Hyundai Excel HB that I got from my cousin. I drove that thing like it was a porsche for about 60K miles and I gave it to my bud when I moved out of state. Still running good after 100K on the odo. It did rattle a lot though, not that solid.

I wonder if it's as fun to drive as a prelude. If it is, then it's a cool car.

I'm going to go test drive it tonight, if it stays sunny out. I've heard that the suspension is soft for a "tuned suspension" hopefully it isn't that bad. They do have strut tower bars, springs or coil-overs, and struts on the market as performance parts.

The bandwagon hates the Civic SI because of its looks.

I've test driven the V6 6-speed. The car doesn't feel "sporty" at all.
