    I can't wait :naughty:

It's at an indoor range, is it okay to wear ear plugs at an indoor range or should I bring my muffs? I usually shoot outdoors so i'm not sure if regular ear plugs would be sufficient for a loud indoor range.

    both, or just muffs.

muffs are better, because they cover the outside of your ear as well.. sound can travel to the ear drum even if your canal is blocked by a plug, and muffs surround the entire ear.

Thanks, i'm going to wear my muffs.

Now the question is, should I wear my low profile shotgunner muffs, or my big thick regular muffs :dunno:.

I need new muffs, my dog got ahold of my old ones, maybe I'll spring for electronic ones this time around.

Muffs cover up the mastiod bone and helps keep it from transferring too much concussion to your ear drum. This is especially important indoors where the walls and ceiling cause an echo and reflect the percussion waves.

I'd take both with you just incase somebody shows up with a hand cannon, and some stupid newbie probably will. When I took the class some jerk off who never fired a gun before showed up with a fucking 44 mag. :ugh: It can get pretty loud at an indoor range, especially if you aren't used to it. I'd probably double up, plugs and muffs.

i always take a few extra pairs of plugs or muffs, because there is often some once a year guy at the range without ear protection

So I went and it was pretty awesome, I shot 200 rounds out of my M9 and we did a ton of IDPA style drills, lot's of fun. I can't wait until I start competing with the SFDCC and local IDPA matches.

Yeah, i'm a shitbag because i've never been to an indoor range before and wanted to get the facts on whether it was okay to wear regular plugs or not since I don't want to permanently fuck up my hearing and I wanted to take every precaution possible.
