Now find another artist to work on fixing that one.

:dunno: I think it looks a lot better now. not the best cover up ever but its a good tat now...and doesn't resemble a penis :bigthumb:

only problem now is you can still see the tat underneath but whatever, I'd still be happy with it.

once it's done peeling post another pic. I wanna see what it looks like when its not so glossy from A&D or whatever's on it.

Yea you can still see some of the old lines if you really look but the A&D makes them stand out a bit more...a few more days and itll be healed up and they are hiding alot better now

Except it didn't look like a penis before! OT just made people think it did.

It's a terrible cover-up. TS should have researched some local artists and found some competent enough to cover up or re-work what he had. :dunno:

When doing a cover-up the artist should take a tracing/pic of the existing tattoo and draw something that utilizes the existing lines in the new tattoo so it blends/covers it up better.

This looks like the guy just drew a skull/roses and stamped it on there.

No, he took pictures and a tracing and if you look closer he tried to cover the outline as much as he could with the bright colored roses...not much else would fit to cover it....he did an awesome job and is a great artist

IMO, black and grey skull would have worked much better
the old grey stands out a lot in the yellow
The older shading needs to be blended in with the smoke or whatever it is

for me the design was made complicated where it could have been simple, and simple where it should have been complicated

Post up healed pics once everything has settled down

 at everyones response. it looks 11ty times better and yes the color shading covers up most of the old lines

I challenge anyone to come up with an idea that will use the lines of the old tattoo and fit better than this...while youre at it, post your coverups !

EDIT: i dont think its the best tattoo or even the best coverup ever. But i like how it looks and im extremely happy to not have just the old 'helmet drawn by a 2 year old' there anymore.

Most people who post on a body mod forum know enough to never need coverups
