i'm stuck at 178-180 lbs

    and cant get any lower. its been about 2-3 weeks. i'm on week 2 of an ec stack as well, and that hasnt seemed to do anything. do i need to limit carbs to like 20g a day or something? i lift and do cardio 4-5 days a week.

    advice would be appreciated.

    edit -

    the only time i eat a significant amout of carbs is in the morning in a shake; the rest of the day, its mostly chicken, veggies, etc. at the most i get 10g carbs during later meals, but probably 20-30g in the morning.

    how long have you been dieting without a break? You may just need to do a week or so at maint. calories (to raise metabolism, leptin, etc), then start again.

    cals arent low enough probably...carbs arent your problem....you probably cheat a lot even though youll never admit it

    uhhhhhh, I believe he said he's been stuck at that weight for 2-3 weeks. Not that he's been dieting for 2-3 weeks.

    hey guys. sorry, let me clarify.

    i've been dieting since mid-may, when i started at 196. i'm 5'9" 180lbs as of this morning, but that fluctuates by +/- 3 lbs per day. my target is 170. even though people say you cant build muscle mass while cutting, my shoulders and bi's are both larger vs. when i started (as verified by measuring), so i've def put on a little muscle. noob gains.

    i've had like 3-4 cheat meals a week for the last week and a half (my birthday + some other birthdays), but honestly they havent put me over 2200 cals/day ever.

    i've been doing ec for the last week or so, but i'm going to stop it on saturday, take 2 or 3 weeks off from it, and then start again i guess if i'm not down to 170.

    i'm taking my MCAT on saturday, but after that I think i'm going to tighten up the diet at 1500-1800 cals a day, keep sugars below 20g and carbs below 50g a day, and up the protein.

    someone elaborate on leptin?

    As you diet, hormone levels fall, telling your body to lower metabolism and conserve resources. Your metabolism can be surpressed by as much as 30%, and this won't come back to normal for 2-4 days of normal calorie levels (maint. or above). That's the main reason it's good to take a week at maint. after dieting after 2-4 weeks.

    ok then, i'm gonna eat normally until saturday, and then just start the diet again on sunday and see what happens.
