...as in, I still haven't gotten it yet. I'm still trying to decide something.

All non-listed specs being equal, which sounds better?

    1.2GHz Pentium M
    9" wide-aspect SVGA touchscreen (1024x600)
    external DVD/CDRW
    ~2 pounds
    $2200

    vs.

    2.0GHz Pentium M
    12" normal-aspect XGA touchscreen (1024x768)
    internal DVD/CDRW
    ~5 pounds
    $2600

In short, do I get a tabtop that's light enough to carry and use all day but has an older CPU that will be outdated sooner, a small screen, and needs an external CD burner -- or do I get a tabtop that has a faster CPU, a bigger screen, and a built-in CD burner but weighs enough that it would be uncomfortable to use in tablet form for long periods of time?

Actually, I guess that was longer than the spec list after all. Oh well. Opinions and personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

It's a Tablet PC, not tabtop or tablet laptop. Either of those are way too expensive for what you're getting. New Tablets can be had for $1300 or so on EBay, and about $1700 from a retailer.
