Odd twist to my workout schedual, but my boss has been bringing it up for a while. He was a championchip boxer and wants to train me. I'm going to do it mostly for a cardio workout but maybe someday I'll actually get in the ring with someone :noes:

Lots of jump rope, footwork, and hitting the punching bag apparently, we'll see how it goes.

Sounds interesting. I've often thought about that for cardio work. However, I would totally suck as a boxer with my T-Rex arms!!!

yea, I'm worried cause I'm not very tall for my weight. If I fight someone, he'll probably be 6'4 like my boss and have like a 6" reach on me :eek3:

I'm gonna take some pics of the gym I think, it's called "Club Sar" in Scottsdale Arizona, I'm going to see if I can google anything.

you should try submission fighting then, your short arms and lack of neck would be awesome since nobody could armbar you or choke you out!

I'm sure somebody could!!! I've thought about that also but there is too much risk of injury that would hinder my powerlifting. OR, maybe I'm just a big pussy!!!

I did that for about 4-5 months in 2003.
I love sparring but never did officially fight. Even when I did it for several years when I was younger I was scared about fighting in front of crowds.

I boxed, and its not easy. You gotta have heart and push yourself harder then you ever have before in anything you have ever done. My gym had garbage cans spread all over for when you had to puke.

I'll definitely spar but I'm not really thrilled with the idea of a real fight, I'm a big softy and wouldnt want to hurt people (or get hurt :noes:)

Why do you want to do such intense cardio right after your cycle?

well, that's kind of something I was going to ask, but wasnt going to ask this board obvious reasons. My boss has brought it up several times over the last year but we never had the same days off till now. It just falls on poor timing I guess. I dont really think it should be much of a problem though :dunno: I might feel like shit though.

Trainning will be the hard part. You will train much harder, longer, and get beat up more in trainning that you will in a short amature fight.
