I'm skinny fat, should I bulk or cut?

    weight 165, 6 feet tall. BF% of around 16-18%.

    im recovering from surgery and i can't lift, only fast paced walking/slow jogging. (pilonidal cyst surgery ftl :wtc: )


    after i recover id like to get back to lifting (liftted for around 6 months last summer) but in the case of being skinny fat should i bulk or cut?

    i hate having a fucking little pudge at the base of my abs and would like to get rid of that first then start real stregth gaining but maybe i should just start to lift heavy first. :dunno:


    any advice from the OT experts?

    if you can walk/jog/run then do it. nothing wrong with healthy excercise.
    im not a fan of bulking if there isnt anything there to begin with.

    ps- amy lee is hot

    Run or jog a lot, because it will tighten your abs, and you will lose the fat on your abdominal area pretty quickly.

    you should bulk...

    I wouldn't really cut if I didn't have enough muscle, so get some muscle and then cut but take it easy on the bulk so you don't gain anymore "unwanted" weight than you would like.

    you need to do a base routine. Doing weight lifting and some cardio will lower your body fat and build some muscle mass. After 3 months or so of this, you can start bulking or cutting depending on what kind of shape you are in.
