I have a unibody MBP (removeable battery)-- 2.53ghz, 4 gig ram. I get the rainbow wheel on a regular basis. Yesterday I had iTunes and safari open. iTunes was downloading some new podcasts and I was browsing the app store. It froze a couple times when navigating around iTunes and gave me the rainbow wheel. Another point while it was downloading and I was trying to delete some music and it did the same thing a few times.

My Powerbook with 2 gigs ram never froze/lagged as much as this one does. Anyone else experience this?

    It just works?

    There's an app for that?

    :mamoru:

Actually my MBP arrived today (2 days earlier than expected)! :h5: So I'm in this crew now. I have no useful input for you though. I hope you get it sorted out, and I hope I don't experience that with mine. :noes:

yep, I started getting small annoyances a little while back on my G5 so I just went ahead and did a backup, reinstalled, and restored only what I needed. After 4 years, it was like I had a new machine.

The beach ball does often times means the system is waiting for I/O. If the drives aren't having problems, you might have your drives go to sleep too early in your Energy Saver preferences.
