    :bigthumb:

I think the media is making a bigger deal of it than it really is. I'm not doing anything to my server.

Yeah, I think its a slow news weekend since everyone's tired of hearing about dead people in the Middle East. This hacking stuff is something new to scare people with.

I spent a half hour researching and reviewing my servers security and that was about it. I'm thinking of tossing Snort on and see what it finds...

The beauty of the Freedom of Speech. That and also remember you're still innocent until proven guilty and not the other way around (nobody has hacked anything).

Yes, you're innocent of not committing a murder. Can you get busted for something else? I'm sure there's something for threatening a life.

Theatening a life has different consequences than damaging property.

On a web site you explain there will be a house paint balling contest. The act itself damages property (and some might argue how much it really damages it), but does it mean its illegal to post on the web? I'd think if someone could tie the fact that web reader X damaged someone's house by reading your site, you could be held liable.

    Although I'm not a lawyer...

I believe ISPs do have some say in what gets posted and they can request such content to be pulled, but a lot of ISPs fear lawsuits as well (again, it boils down to this freedom of speech thing).
