Instead, I'm getting a new 2.4ghz, 13 inch macbook. Always wanted a laptop that wasn't *expensive* like the MBPs. Plus, my buddy at Apple is going to get me 25% off the price. :)

Get a 70-200 first. I think it'll be more useful to you!

Nice. :bigthumb: I need a mac laptop. We have a ThinkPad but my wife has pretty much taken it over. Besides, I'm a hard core Apple nazi.

Move to canada...supposedly a dude is selling his 2.16 ghz MBP for $1299 CDN, which is about $1010 USD with Leopard, FCP, MS Office 2008, Aperture, iLife 09, iWork 09, and Parallels w/ XP.

Hope the dude who wants to buy it isn't getting scammed.

The 80-200 isn't that bad, doesn't focus as fast/ accurate it seems, but I could really dig a 200/2 and then throw some TCs on for football/baseball. a 400/4 would be pretty badass :noes:

I already have MS office 08 already and LR2. Probably the two big programs I'll be putting on it. Just something mobile that's compatible with the big boy so I don't have to host shit and send people links.

Very sexy, and at the bottom of my list right now. That price is just a bit out of (even) my range! I just don't think I'll get $4600 worth of use out of it. :dunno:

    But one day, one day!

everyone always says macs do PS better...but I can't see not only the initial cost in purchasing a mac, but also the cost in aquiring software considering there's no way in hell I'm switching my entire home to mac...3 pc's and 2 laptops...:nono:

We have 3 PCs and 1 apple right now. My wife loves my mac and she wants one, but she doesn't want to make the switch yet. Most programs these days are made for both! And if you're smarter than the avg bear, you can find programs for a mac as easily as you can for any PC.

If you go to insanelymac.com they have tutorials on how to load leopard onto a lot of different pc's, both laptops and desktops. For those of us with newer pc's you cna make the switch without buying new hardware.

Adobe's software is so easy to crack, the master's edition of CS4 was cracked and available less than 2 weeks after the demo was released...
