I started doing this new routine where I jump (landing on my toes, not heels) on and off a box 50 times in between exercises to keep my heart rate up and burn some calories. I have been doing this for a month or so and the problem is that it has totally fucked up my ankles/back of my heels. Every morning for about 10 minutes after i get out of bed its painful on my ankles to walk. whats the problem? should i stop and do something else instead or will the pain eventually go away?

All pain eventually goes away, when you die.

you've been plantar flexing for so long, you need to do a reverse exercise/stretch

    do some dorsiflexion stretching

Your number of ground contacts is way too high for what you're doing...if you want to keep your heart rate up I'd suggest exercises that are lower impact
