Everytime I turn it on, it goes to the log in screen and I can't type anything. I can't even power off my laptop. I have to unplug the power and wait til the battery dies or unplug the battery. Then when I turn it on again and it goes to the login screen, I can then type and log in and it will be fine.

This happens everytime I turn on my laptop. I have to wait for the 2nd time for it to work.

    It's an Acer Aspire 3000

    Thanks

I really don't know in this case.

1st: Have you tried contacting Acer technical support? Maybe they can shoot you in the right direction.

2nd: Try taking the battery out of the laptop, let it sit for a few minutes, then plug it back in. Could be dust on the contacts of the battery? :dunno: It's kind of like having to take the battery off your cell phone from time to time to get it to work correctly.

3rd: These nerds over here http://forums.anandtech.com/ might be able to help you out (if all else fails)
