First he has to "run the numbers". Next he has to "gauge interest". Then he has to "talk to his guy". Once those steps have been completed he will be sufficiently distracted by the next shiny item to restart the process.

    WRONG!

I called the dealer, and he says the way I should do it is with the front page of a form 5, and then print the certificate of compliance on the back.

Should work like a dream :hsugh:

On a serious note, I am filling them out double sided, since this is not my first NFA item. (I got the joke, but wanted to make sure I don't really get lumped in with thomor)

called the sheriffs office, asked what I needed. They said drop the form off, and they'd call me in about 4 weeks to pick it up.

Decided to call FCPD, see what their option was, it was the same thing.

Coworker asked me "did they send you the forms?" I was all "uhh, what forms?"

Turns out there are extra forms fairfax county wants filled out, things like what is your job, what kind of security system do you have, alarm system, etc.

Just a lot of stuff I don't think is any of their concern. Plus the annoyance of an additional month for them to essentially call me in to the state police as though I was buying a firearm.

So, I set up a trust and went that way. much easier for me, no more asking for permission from local govt before asking permission from federal govt, no more fingerprinting, no more photos.
