Shit, my Army recruiter is going to be pissed at me
Will my ASVAB scores and my physical carry over?
asvab will, not sure about the physical though.
If you have already been to MEPS you have to tell your Army recruiter so that he takes you out of the "bucket". The Marine Recruiter will not appreciate having to go deal with your Army recruiter because you couldn't man up.
I haven't signed any papers yet
I was going to go Army becuase I wanted to be a support position such as Small Arms Repair, but then after the recent plot against UK airlines, I got so fed up with all the shit from terrorists and the like I decided to go infantry. After calming down and thinking about it, I realized I only ever picked support to appease my parents.
Now, with a combat MOS, I'd rather be a marine.
good job now shave your jar
My dad did yesterday
thats cool, can you run 3 miles in 18 minutes yet?
Not quite, but Cross Country is getting me there. Is that really a requirement?
werent u considering being a Ranger?
18 min 3 mile is 100% on the usmc pt test for the run
Don't join, you're completly lost.
Get a random job, go to school, wait until you are at least 99% sure about what you wanna do in the Military and why you wanna join the Military.
If you don't, you will kick yourself in the ass later. I'm serious, take your time.
cant agree enough. so many shitbags in the military who picked wrong job and didnt join for the right reason and then they do their job poorly
I know for certain I want to be in the military. When I was looking at the Army, I was going to be fixing guns. I was looking at the signing bonus, the money for college, the benefits, etc. Then I realized that that isn't why I want to be a soldier. I want to make a difference in the war on terror. I do not mean to demean the support MOSs AT ALL, they are fantastic and we need them, but that isn't how I want to make my contribution to this country.
And if I am fighting, I want to be sorrounded my Marines.
p.s. I'll look for Accord. By the time I graduate he might be in boot
i would just like you to know that we don't have guns in the military. and no offense to any marines, but these are the people who give marines a bad name.
So a pistol isn't considered a gun ??
What are you refering to when you say 'these' ??
a pistol is a weapon and/or small arms. and i'm speaking of people who make rash decisions to join the marines, with no thought process into it, and then come out and think they are the greatest thing ever.
Guns is a perfectly acceptable phrase in today's language. Looks like you just wanted to disagree with me about something.
I just realized how pointless it is trying to justify myself to a group of people I don't even know.
Not in the military. Everytime one of my students says gun, bullets, or clip it cost them 25 pushups.
Students? What do you do? but on the terminology piece that always irritates me...it's hard breaking new privates of that dirty civilian talk...
Small Arms. Cartridges. Magazines.
this guy is so confused.
You've basically just let us know that you want to kill people, mainly terrorist types, in an effort to assuage the fear and feeling of being violated that they've done to you.
If you REALLY want to kill people that badly, go be a grunt and try for scout/sniper.
My BEST advice, however, is that you stay as far away from the military as possible until you've reconciled your fears and feelings, and matured to the point that you know exactly what you want and how it will help you accomplish future goals (as in, when you get OUT of the military).
...and rifles and pistols are weapons, not guns. Guns are on naval ships.
Brackac, make them do pushups over a buried K-bar with 2" sticking up out of the soil.
My goal after the marines:
During service I will put a portion of my paycheck into a savings account, never to be touched. After I get out, I will use the money to buy a small movie theatre in a small town and run that until I retire.
