I'm trying to decide on these three choices. It's going to be my off-duty carry weapon. Which should I choose.

    glock 19 > all those

But I'd probably get the M&P personally...I love the way they feel in my hands and I wouldn't need to use it as a carry gun :o

I'd go with a compact gun over a fullsized. G19 gets my vote...M&Ps and XDs don't work as well for me in my hands.

That's another thing I can't decide on. Whether to get full size or compact.

I assume you have to have .40 right? G23 is what I'd pick if that's the case.

It doesn't have to be .40.

    Personal preference?

    I'd pick the G19, or a G30 if you don't like 9mm. Still, you could do a lot worse then a G23 (yes I'm a Glock whore).

I never got to swap the backstraps. I'm sure I'd like them better, being able to switch grips though. I'm not talking shit about the guns, I just shoot better with the Glock :hsd:

Glock 23, it's what I carry most of the time and I have no problems with it.

    I'm torn here.

I like the way the XD feels and so does my wife. Just got her a 3" XD to CC.
I've shot my buddy's G23 several times and don't really care for it.

Both XDs and Glocks have a fantastic reputation for reliability, as you know.

I shot my co-worker's M&P 40 a while back and I was *really* impressed with the lack of "felt" recoil compared to the others. OTOH the M&Ps have earned a reputation for some reliability issues, if you search this forum.

Just going on "comfort" I'd say the M&P

Else the XD or Glock. I like how the XD has a grip safety also.

    :dunno:

What does you carry at work?

Having the same/similar thing to your duty gun would probably be nice.

I ASSume you plan on concealing this gun? I personally went to Kahrs (specifically the E/P/CW/K 9) for my CCW guns. They are small, light (the polymer ones anyways), and most importantly... thin. A P9 with XS bigdots stays with me the majority of the time.

I have no experience with any of those, so I will not be voting.
