After all of my "What do you think about (gun x)" and "Is (gun y) a good gun?" posts I've got my mind 99% made up on the Browning Hi-Power. I went to a store and handeled two models of the Hi-Power. The first was the Mk lll and the second was supposedly the Practical model, but the color scheme on it wasn't correct according to the Browning website. It was pretty much the silver finish all over the gun other than the handle. Either way, I like the Mk lll better anyhow.

So, I left the store and went to my City PD and applied for my permit. They said since it was my first time it d take about 5 days, and then I could come pick up my permit/permits. As of right now I'm getting the gun through www.galleryofguns.com (see pricing in my other thread. I think total is $640 or so). I'm pretty excited though.

If anyone ever needs my help for anything tire/wheel/suspension related, let me know. And if you're in the SE Michigan area, come by the Belle Tire I work at and I can hook you up! Thanks agin.:wavey:

What store did you go to, to look at the gun?

What Belle Tire do you work at?

The same reason I had to, some cities are gay and lazy. They do the background check when they have some extra time.

Troy makes you wait 5 days if its your first handgun permit through them.

I went to Bass Pro Shop at Great Lakes Crossing when I left school (OU).

I work at the BT on Rochester just north of Auburn.

I know, my city PD hands over all the apps. to the records dept. They make the call when they have free time, from what I understand.

Get a safe to lock up your new gun so it doesn't shoot you in the night. Fucking guns are crazy.

Congrats, make sure to post up pictures of it when you get it. These people here helped me make my decision on what gun to buy, but i went with a slightly different route.

Definitly a good gun. My first gun about a year and a half ago was the twin of the 870...the Winchester 1300. My brother got the autoloading Remington shotgun (not sure of the model at the monent), and he loves it. We go sporting clays shooting every once in a while. I'll never trade my pump though :wiggle:

John Browning favored the Hi-Power over his 1911.

I love the feel of a Hi-Power, but I cant justify spending $700 on such a dated gun/design.

If I scratched it, Id cry. If I scratch my Glock, I dont give a fuck

CDNN has some good deals on the FN Hi-Powers. And galleryofguns.com has the Browning Hi-Power Mk lll for $630 or so after taxes and fees. Not too bad all things considered.
