    for my Nikon D80.

the best price i could find new is $520 shipped.

has anyone used this lens before? i've read the review on rockwells site and he recommends it just under the Nikon lens. can't afford the Nikon, so i'm going to get this one.

anyone know where i can find this lens cheaper?

seemed decent, except for the fact its circle of illumination isn't big enough :o

what's the crop on the D80? is that picture an example of a 1.3x sensor?

you're fine unless you go FF. you're on a 1.5x body. though I'm guessing the corners might be soft.

thats the full image circle showing its smaller than the area of the sensor

    why don't you get a 10-20?
a lot of lenses go under 20 already, and 10 is a lot more than 12 especially on a 1.5x crop

I love my Tokina...my most used lens. I've used the nikon and the price tag isn't worth it to me. The Tokina will have a small vignetting problem at 12mm but that can be easily fixed.
