i cant be the only here disappointed with what Square has to offer for the 13th installment of this series.

i hear lots of people complaining that its "too linear" to which i would reply "no shit, FF has always been a linear game" but now i kinda see what they mean. that and the story just wont stop, its just none stop epic.. shit goes down in the first 30sec and then its "lets pick up the pieces from then on" theres no down time. ive been playing for like 7hour and i haven't hit a town where i can just regroup and talk to people. it feels more like uncharted.. without all the fun gunplay....

i thought i was gonna have a hard time choosing what to play since God of War comes out this week too, but now it looks like this is gonna hit the shelf when GoW gets here :o

sad too, i had high hopes for this one :wtc:

But really though I was disappointed at first, but it gets better as you progress and they introduce new shit in battle and leveling.

yeah unfortunately linear, and no exploration what so ever are 2 different things.

FF6 was linear but it felt more 3d than this. Eg you enter the town zozo and you see people walking all over the place into buildings and you have to figure out what the fuck they are talking about and where to go next while decoding their crypted language time code.

I expected them to improve on that and instead we get final hallway 13. Walk straight then walk straight some more and then guess what walk straight some more until yup you keep just fucken walking straight. Dont pass go, dont collect 200 dollars , just fuck off.

The rest of the game is not that bad though so il keep playing.

Never played bouncer but its like GTA but much better. Its 100% action the whole time. over 100 vehicles, tanks, helicopters, jets, commercial airliners. Free falling, parachuting, Amazing grapple system. Check out the 30 minute demo you will either like or hate :)

I typically do hate jrpg's, but this one has guns!!! and the combat system is intriguing.

same here. and I can't get over how bad the camera is. I'm constantly fighting it and trying to find a decent angle. It's even more frustrating since the camera makes it much harder to run from all the pointless battles at the beginning.

nothing about it has impressed me so far - pretty disappointing for a supposedly 'AAA' game. Frankly, I just keep buying final fantasy games because I'm hoping for another one as good as ff7 to come out.

Vanille wouldn't be so annoying if her voice was better.

I play FF games for their story and then for their gameplay, and im fairly happy with the story, nothing epic but its good. I was expecting a much more childish story but its fine the way it is.

They did a good job with the new character building. No levels, just trees, I hope to see more of this. (Similar to ff12's but imo better)

Last but not least I need to note the battle system. A bit of a shame you can't choose who you want as ur leader but they did a good job giving you control over the party even though ur only really controlling one.
