............but not for that price
Looks nice but I dont think I would ever have a use for a camo handgun
Neither would I, it would just make a nice addition to the collection though.
I need to hurry up and turn 21 so I can legally get a handgun. And then a C&R license and a FL carry permit
Yes you do.
Wait! I just realized this would be the "perfect" carry gun. If for some reason you were carrying it, and your shirt lifted up to expose it, nobody would even see it.
Even though I turn 21 the beginiing of the summer, I have already begun trying to figure out what Id want to carry. Although Ive never fired them, I am thinking maybe a p99. In .40
Very nice gun, but I would handle/fire as many as you can before you decide.
Dont really have access to many. Id have to rent at the range or something
Go to a range where you can rent, handle as many as possible, narrow it down to 2-3 that fit you the best, rent those, narrow it down to 1, purchase gun.
The range by me will not charge you for the rental if you end up buying the gun. Talk to them about doing something like that, if they don't already.
As for options:
-P99, XD, or Glock for that price range.
-You can never go wrong with a nice little S&W Airweight 442/642, or any variation of that.
-if you want something a little nicer, look at maybe a Sig P239, 229, or even a 232 if you want something smaller, or HK.
......remember, if this is gonna be for carry, the Sig will be a bit heavier because of the metal frame (obvious), so just ask yourself (with any of the guns) "will this be comfortable for me to carry all day?"
1911 FTW. Might be a little big for concealed carry, but a good 1911 is a fabulous pistol to own.
Definately not into compact pistols, but I dont know if Id wanna carry a ,45 with me. A P99 wouldnt be too big to carry would it? If I were to get a holster that fit on my right side under my jeans. I always wear just a t shirt loose when Im not at school
nice pistol to own..............but personally I would not want a 1911 for carry.
a P99 should be fine, I carry a XD9 Sub Compact in a Threat Solutions IWB holster. I can conceal it pretty damn good in the summer with just a t-shirt, and I usually dont wear really baggy shirts either. The only time it prints a little is if I have to bend over for something.
Hell, I can conceal my full size P226 in a pancake holster with a little bit bigger t-shirt on, with no problem.
Don't take it hunting with you... if you drop it, you'll NEVER find that bish.
...............funny thing is, I already ran that scenario through my head.
You can legally own a handgun, you just can't purchase one from an FFL.
edit: Nevermind, I just saw that you're in Illinois.
I turn 21 next month. I have already made plans to purchase a handgun, and have been looking over my options for a few months now. I'm so excited
I think I'm going to wait until spring break when I go to Tennessee to visit my girlfriend to buy a gun. I've seen better prices down that way, plus her mom's fiance knows a few good places to look there.
If you're not a resident of Tennessee, an FFL there won't sell you a gun. You'll have to have it shipped to an FFL dealer in your state.
Wheres naperville around? In so/il or the st louis area?
Edit: youre near that butthole of a city Chicago
My oldest brother owns a P99 in .40 and it's an extremely comfortable gun to fire. It's the da/sa version so it took some time getting used to since I'm used to my glock, but after that it was a real joy to shoot. I plan on getting one once I turn 21.
Being 20 ftl
I was lucky enough to get the Glock for my birtday after much begging of my mom (she was more against the price than anything else). Only a few more months to go.
Ive got a CZ52 right now. I had to get on my dads back repeatedly just for him to use my own money to get it. Its on my moms records now. You can own a handgun you age in FL cant you?
Sure can. Here your gun isn't under anyone's name technically, except for at the shop where you purchased it since any kind of state registration of firearms is illegal.
