yeah i know, nobody gives a shit :fawk:

but i pulled 405 today for the first time since my back injury a few months ago. went up nice and smooth too, no hitching or bucking or jerking and of course no straps either. i think it's a big step for me mentally more than anything, since the injury has been in the back of my mind before each pull - not being able to walk for 2 weeks was one of the shittiest experiences of my life.

so this brings my current total up to 1125, which is higher than it was pre-injury AND i'm 20lbs lighter. Now i just have to make sure i don't do anything stupid :o

cliffs - i'd like a motherfucking cookie please

Nice work. I know the feeling about pulling heavy again after your back being hurt. I was scared to deadlift heavy again after messing my back up back when I first started lifting.

Did you just strain your lower back? Or something worse

yeah it was a lower back muscle pull. nothing serious in the long run, but i was pretty much stuck in bed for close to 2 weeks, and then like an idiot i re-aggravated it by picking something up before it was healed, which put me out for another week :o

    nice job Chris

increasing your pull while cutting and coming off an injury is always a good thing

    congrats man.

I agree though, do not go heavy/hard yet and start maxing. You are just asking to bring back your injury then... and with something like the back, you really do not want to fuck around with that.

Oh yeah, here is your cookie:

yeah i'm definitely going to stay away from maxing, especially on deads. it's tempting sometimes :) but like you guys said it isn't worth it.

thanks for the cookie too :bigthumb:

What did you do for recovery? Nice that you didn't drop in strength.
