I'm almost done with the Beta version of my OSX appliation :noes: *PICS*

Application is in Beta now. See here for details

    http://forums.offtopic.com/showthread.php?t=2166355

It's going to be called ClearBank and will be an easy to use, straight forward banking program that lets you put down your daily expenses so you can keep track of how much money you have.

The only thing i have left right now is getting the saving to work. Everything else is working :noes:

Is there anyone here who'd be willing to download a copy in a few days and test it out and let me know if anything breaks or what features would be good to add in the future? :x:

Here are some screenshots of the program :eek5:

Yeah, it'll be free until i can at least compete with competitors. There are a few other banking apps but they all cost like 40 bucks and stuff, but have a lot more features than mine does at this point.

This is the first application i've written for OSX, so it'll be free for now :o

if you max it out with all the RAM and throw in some dual 30" monitors the price really gets up there :o

I'll test it. I was going to make a spreadsheet later today for this EXACT purpose (can't afford Quicken).. so, if it works that'll be just dandy. :)

Thats what I had been doing for a few years... then I built a PHP version to handle it all. I'm basically remaking that with Cocoa in the form of this application.

I should have a working copy by the end of the week that you guys can try out :eek3:

    here.
It seems as if there is quite a few competitors in this market, of relatively basic "quicken" type applications. Good luck to you.

A friend of mine has an application that does what you're trying to do, and I think the first 25 or 50 entries into your "log" are free, but after that you have to register.

From what I've seen from his competitors, he's gaining some word of mouth advertising I think....basically by totally supporting their software. It's pretty cool to see a small software company succeed. If you branch out, or stick with this app, with any hope of $, good luck man.

(I'm not trying to sound like an ass in this post, even tho it may come across as such....seriously, wish ya the best.) :bigthumb:

I wasn't actually planning on making any real money off this. I just needed a fairly straightforward app to learn how to write apps with Objective-C. Since I already had a basic logic tree set up from the php app, i'm just applying those same basic ideas to this.

Eventually though I hope to start making applications that WILL be marketed and sold to people to use.
