Im leaning towards my eVar favorite HK USP40 Compact. Im in the Philippines right now so the USP is a very rare hand gun...most guys here have glocks, sigs, & para's. Because of it's rarity i'll also be playing a hefty price (U$1388) :eek3: :eek3: :eek3:

What do you think? It this gun worth the $1388 price tag or should I buy something else? Like a glock 27 or the new walther P99 .40?

    Thanks!

if it cost allot more than the sig and glock i'll say no get the sig.sig and hk are close on top of your choices but sig has smoother trigger hk has better barreling and glock is all around workhorse.aye man you can probally get a 1911 cheap over there eh whats a price on springfield trp there?i know the philippines export allot of 1911 frames to big name companys in the U.S.

Unpossible, there's no way Filipinos can know about OT. Or the Interweb.

hahaha you guys kill me! Im from Vancouver, Canada..moved back to the Philippines. I've been a member since Fazle was still posting and everybody hated greddyex haha til they cancelled my membership..so i had to sign up again.

Why a .40? Stopping power. It's pretty damn scary here in the Philippines, alot of crack heads..assholes...fucking bus drivers that will cut in front of you..and of course kidnappers. My friend has been kidnapped...my uncle has been kidnapped. I rather feel safe with me carrying it than say...do nothing and let myself be taken away my muslim terrorists. **im not trying to be racist but most kidnappers here are abu sayyaf which are linked to al qaeda**

Glocks and sigs are abundant here so the prices are very competitive...you can get a glock 40 for $818. As for the 1911..easy to get..cheap..but it's heavy..too heavy for my taste. My dad has a colt government 1911..it feels solid but shit, you'd have to lift weights to carry it around! haha

Like i said..the HK would be pimpass cuz' not alot of people own one and from what i've been reading from O-T...alot of people love it.

I thought .38 / 9mm was the largest caliber you could legally own in the Philippines?

nah, there's a new law here which a civilian can own 1 handgun and 1 machine gun. Whether that be mp5 or m4 or m16...you can own it with the right connections & $$$ to cut through the red-tape.

It must be some other place that has the .38 caliber restriction.

Not based on diameter. It's like in the U.S. how civilians can't own anything bigger than .50 caliber. Whether it's a .50 BMG or a .50 DE it doesn't matter.

according to cops, a gun like the glock with no manual safeties to "learn or fumble" is more suited for a beginner.

I don't know what 9mm translates to in inches. If it's smaller than .38 than the law I was thinking of probably stated anything .38 or smaller is allowed. If 9mm is bigger than .38, the law was probably 9mm or anything smaller is ok.

.50BMG has always been legal. That's what I was trying to say. Anything bigger than .50 caliber is illegal for civilians in the United States. So .50 is legal but if someone came out with a .50000001 caliber it would be illegal.

Buy the gun you want, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Also, don't buy a gun because everyone else has it. Buy it because you like it.
