I'm about to go to the GYM, advise me

    I'm about to go to the gym for the first time in a while, I want to lose about 20 lbs, namely the gut. I'm about 220/225 right now, and would like to do good mix of wieght and cardio. I have broad shoulders and am 5'11ish. What kind of routine should I go with to ease back in. My apartment gym has all the standard cardio stuff, all in one wiehgt machines and dumbells. I cant run for more than 20 minutes, its just too boring.

    So what would be the best use of my time? :x:


    or I could just do HIIT...but I found it was so hard to do on machines

    But seriously, start a decent weight program (like the one Pur stickied up top), clean up your diet, cut your calories by about 500 per day and do cardio about 20-30 minutes 3-4 times per week.

    Seriously, that's it. Do it for like a year and check back with us. It doesn't matter what you start with so much as you start.

    Start off with front squats, add a lil drop snatches in there, tate presses, rack pulls, aaannnnnnddddd clean jerks.


    Thats the best newb routine out now.

    Oh, dont forget.. its 80% diet and 20% working out.

    Next time you go, try to wait until it's the busiest and then find one of the bench presses and just sit on it. Then just smile at everyone who walks by. After twenty minutes or so they'll accept you as one of their own.
