I've been lifting for about 5 years. Very seriously for the last two years.

Ive been on a Bill Starr routine (with some variants) for a year and a half. I feel like its not working so much for me anymore and I want to know where to go next. Your advice would help alot.

Info: I do a 3-4 day split (every other day). Last time I took a break was August.

    My "Big" 3 = Bench 285lb
    Squat 325lbs atg
    DL 315lbs

What Can I ADD or change to start growing again?

At what point does the Starr routine become obsolete? (Assuming that at some point in the progression it does)

the best set routine is one you make yourself, nobody here knows what your body will specifically benefit from or how quickly you recover

Maybe give an upper/lower a try

when I'm not following a WSB variant,

    Monday: Upper Pushing Emphasis
    Tuesday: Lower Quad Emphasis
    Wed/Off
    Thursday: Upper Pulling Emphasis
    Friday: Lower Hammy Emphasis

Oh well, you finally caught me. The Only lifting I really do is the Syringe to my Delts 4 times a day. No real commitment here.

at your level, I think a break every 8 weeks would be good. I personally break (deload or miss a session or two) every 4-5 weeks

Oh you wanted to confirm if what he wrote about his day off was correct and you were actually asking about how his WSB routine. sorry man it's just funny to poke at ya :)

i'd worry less about your training routine and more on your dieting. 5 years of training and mediocre, at best, numbers and an average sized male to show for it

for most people a week off will do. I train 4 days a week and vary my deload or rest periods.

Read this if you care about deloading:
