I'm in the offseason right now for ice hockey (my team plays a different schedule then nhl). I've been bulking up and now I'm up to 255, but I'm usually 230 when I play. What do you guys recommend to cut down while retaining muscle I have gained.

reduce carbs and overall calories, keep protein high and fats moderate

you have to ease into it so you don't get burned out. and if you start feeling sluggish make sure you carb up.

what league do you play for? are you pro? why did you mention the NHL?

230 is fucking big for a hockey player, im assuming youre a defenseman? even then....

you asked for help with what to do diet and training wise, he answered your question correctly.......how are we going to help you motivate yourself to do what YOU need to do for your OWN benefit?

if you need to cut and are serious about your sport, then thats what you have to do, i dont get when people ask questions about motivation. you came here and asked so you obviously know you want to do it, just do it, take control of yourself.

230 is not unheard of, average weight is 200-205 iirc, and most of the enforcers are at least 225..then you have guys like Laraque coming in at 250-260.

whatever you do, do NOT reduce caloric intake while increasing cardiovascular exercise. that would be fucking terrible.

Right, and if its the minors they can be bigger than some pro's.

:hsugh: who said that? leg training is all we did, but high reps and burn outs, explosive movements.

listen, I've seen your pictures and you shouldn't be ridiculing anyone when you have the body of a 10 year old girl.

In addition, if you don't think I'm capable then lets do so by you being permanently banned from this site when I do.

lol leg training joke went over the head of a lot of people I feel kinda bad :hs:

Motivation? You're on a team, bro. That's the easiest way to stay motivated. You have at least 20 other guys working their asses off, lifting together, pushing each other.

Having a team for anything fitness related is the shit because you hold one another accountable. Get a couple guys from the team and tell them you wanna drop weight for the upcoming year and you guys hit the gym together and stay on top of shit.

Losing 20-25 pounds for lacrosse was a piece of cake. It's when I had to do it alone that it gets harder.

I'd be more than happy to post a pic next to yours and see who looks more like a ten year old girl if you want.

On for you ban bet. Game on son.

what is the date you will attempt 600lb deadlift. Get it in stone.

there is no need for me to post my picture.

I will deadlift 600lbs on or before June of 2010.

Remember, you can't come back so rethink your decision.
