IL residents I thought you should all see this update from the ISRA
A pair of gun control bills passed out of the Executive Committee today:

The first bill, HB4357, would prohibit the ownership most of the rifles, shotguns and pistols now on the market. http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/Bil...9&DocTypeID=HB&LegID=34861&SessionID=51&GA=95
(Your first violation of this law with your "assault weapon" would be a class 3 felony.)

The second bill, HB4393 would prohibit the purchasing of more than one firearm per month. http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/Bil...9&DocTypeID=HB&LegID=34913&SessionID=51&GA=95

And finally this is beside the main point to this thread but those outside the state might get a laugh our of how our elected representatives waste our money. Rep. Pritchard (R) has introduced a bill to ban billy clubs http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/Bil...9&DocTypeID=HB&LegID=34611&SessionID=51&GA=95

For my birthday, I wished this state would fall into the lake. I was disappointed.

Fight it. Go to the hearings, write your delegates. We just won a battle here in MD this week about serializing ammo. It CAN be won. You just have to want it and fight for it.

Well, if the Supreme Court rules against DC, this legislation should be next to go...

Where are you going to be? :big grin:

"The petition for a writ of certiorari is granted limited to the following question: Whether the following provisions, D.C. Code §§ 7-2502.02(a)(4), 22-4504(a), and 7-2507.02, violate the Second Amendment rights of individuals who are not affiliated with any state-regulated militia, but who wish to keep handguns and other firearms for private use in their homes?"

There's a long way to go from a good answer to that question to striking down a state ban of assault weapons.

    Damn that's ridiculous.

So glad I moved outta that hell hole  Too bad my parents and sister still live there, I wouldn't complain if I never had to go back.
