whenever i get trouble with nero, it's either:
    1) the media i'm burning on is crap
    2) nero needs to be reinstalled or i need to at least restart my computer
    3) burner is about to die - this happened once to my dvd burner. don't by a liteon

Without reading the log, if you have transferred a movie to your pc that is larger than the normal 4.7gb disc, and you are trying to burn to a 4.7gb disc, you might get that warning.

i'm burning a bunch of avi files as a data disk.
about a gig under the size of the disk.
i've tried re installing nero. even went to nero 6. that didnt work. it wont work in clone dvd either. so i'm guessing its the burner.

I tried one of those fuckin dvd lens cleaner things. dont know if that was a good idea or not.

I was thinking you were using a newer Nero version.

Are you sure the version you have supports dvd?

Also, video apps can be very finicky about what files they will handle.

I'm not positive about how good Nero is with avi files.

You could try to update the firmware on your NEC.
They might have come up with a fix for that.
