they are up there now
Anyone have an invite to the members only club of oink?
man that hit oink fast! Hopefully this will help my seeding radio
fuck! late on the ratio booster. I need it sooo bad.
I'm screwed on Oink
Can someone pls give me an invite to oink?
I got iWork late last night, and I have a .85 ratio right now
But I like iWork, i think it's going to replace Office 04
You my friend need to read this:
I'm actually going to buy the software! *gasp*
$79 for iLife is a steal already IMO, so I think it's unnecessary to pirate it. iWork is the same way.
You can download the trial version off apple's website and just enter a serial, thats what i did.
anyone got anymore oink invites
Is iLife worth getting? Seems like not much of an improvement...
And where could I get this said serial? PM me please.
Looks like people with PowerBook is starting to get screwed over by Apple. iMovie won't work on G4 machines.
I noticed that too. I wonder how long it will be before an OS release will be "Intel" only.:hsr:
iLife 08 - http://v3.newzbin.com/browse/post/2599998/
iWork 08 - http://v3.newzbin.com/browse/post/2599401/
Why in god's name are people downloading iWork from torrent sites?
http://www.apple.com/iwork/trial/ + serial = not retarded
because there are no serials listed on any of the sites yet...
There is an updated iMovie HD that you can get from Apple. Saw it on www.tuaw.com.
Some features of the older iMovie they actually took out to make the new one simpler.
1kb dl vs 500mb download...
Anyway, I've played around with it a bit. Keynote is awesome, I like it better than Power Point. Pages is no Word-killer, but is enough to get the job done and can read docx.
The real disappointment is Numbers. While I'm sure it will be good enough for the majority of users, it's totally unusable for my purposes. The scatter-plot is next to useless compared to excel. I can't see any obvious way to plot multiple columns of dependent variables against a single column of independent variables. So say I wanted to graph the voltage, current and power in an ac circuit all as functions of time. There is no (apparent) way to have one column for time and three columns for V, I, P. The columns have to go t, V, t, I, t, P, which is a godawful way of implementing this.
Additionally, While there are slope and intercept functions, I see no apparent way to graph the best fit linear regression onto the scatterplot. The real killer, though, is the lack of error bars. This makes Numbers next to useless for any quick scientific presentations. I'm not asking for anything unreasonable; this stuff was in Excel '97. But like I said, if you're a marketing executive looking for slick bar graphs to put into a Keynote presentation, or a middle-schooler looking for the same then Numbers will most certainly be a great tool for you. I suppose that is who Apple is looking to as their target market, anyway. Scientists, engineers and assorted eggheads can all fuck off, please.
Let the Apple apologists come forth and rip me a new one. Start.... Now!
that's why they give you that nice trial period. Why do people feel the urge they must serialize it immediately after?
Got a chance to play with it and all every single app in iwork is far behind office. (Exception is probably keynote, which gives awesome layouts, and some can argue its better than powerpoint, but i disagree).
Im comparing it to Office 2007, which isnt out for OSX yet so this might be unfair, but whatever. Also I only played with iwork for a few hours, and there may be some things I missed, or couldnt figure out how to do it (if its possible) so correct me if im wrong.
Pages may be easy to use, but lacking essentials such as editing the layout which i found to be a pain in the ass. No diagram tools, no reference tool (which i found really odd, maybe I didnt figure it out )
Keynote is probably the best app in iWork, but still lacking diagram tools. Its easier to use than powerpoint, but I really dont find powerpoint that hard to use.
Numbers. Yea not really worth mentioning as it probably the worse of the three. Cant really blame Apple too much because its their first shot at spreadsheet, but light years behind Excel.
To sum it up, there isnt something iwork can do that the free version of neo office or open office cant do. And Office is far more advance than iwork, but most people dont need or use those functions anyways.
