    8.0 Presentation
The story and character development could be improved. A convenient interface, a nicely implemented camera, and high production values throughout.
    8.5 Graphics
Screen tearing and slowdown can be annoying, but otherwise this is a fantastic looking game, with a consistent style, great use of color, and top notch animations.
    8.0 Sound
Voice acting is professional, though much of it isn't memorable. Solid sound design throughout, from weapon and battle effects to the overworld music.
    7.5 Gameplay
Neither the puzzle nor combat systems are especially deep, but the fluidity and accessibility keeps them entertaining, along with the gear items and upgrades that add variety.
    7.5 Lasting Appeal
This is not a short game at around 15 hours, though the superficial appeal of each section means backtracking isn't as interesting as it could have been.
    7.8
    Good OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)

edit: the scores are the same for both consoles.

    seems low
they are right about the screen terring is horrible at times on the 360 especially when you are moving the camera. Baynetta has just as much screen fucking though.

i've been playing the ps3 version for about 5 days now and see no screen tearing at all. I notice screen tearing in bayonetta but darksiders is pretty smooth. As for the low ass score, it has to be ign US only to differentiate from what everyone else is saying.

Seriously a shit ton of review sites say this game is awesome, and it has been awesome before ign US put up their review.

I like how they mark it down for using old and used gameplay mechanics and yet halo odst gets a friggen 9. IGN is a joke.

i dont really care about this game at all, but i gotta agree 100% with this comment. how halo gets a 9 when its nothing new since the first one more or less. if anything they make the games shorter and shorter now but it still gets good scores.

    IGN head to head
    ...

    Presentation

Here's where things get more interesting. There are a handful of noticeable differences between the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Darksiders. While both are good looking games, I can't clearly say one is without a doubt better than the other, and here's why. On Xbox 360, you get more vibrant colors and, in some cases, more detail, which is great considering how much skill Vigil displayed in crafting an cohesive and interesting art style and skillfully applying color to enhance the feel and tone of the world. What's less exciting to hear is that you'll fun into framerate issues from time to time and there's quite a bit of screen tearing, even in cases where you're simply walking and keeping the camera still, which can will noticeable and annoying. It's not going to ruin your play experience unless you're ultrasensitive to that kind of thing, but it will stand out.

With the PlayStation 3 version, the amount of screen tearing seems to be noticeably less. It's still present in some capacity, but to less of a degree than with the Xbox 360 version. Unfortunately, this comes along with an experience that isn't quite as smooth and a more subdued color palette. If you're playing only on PlayStation 3 this isn't something you're going to notice as much since it's still a fine looking product, but it's more obvious when you put both versions next to each other.

Basically, the Xbox 360 version looks better but has more screen tearing. There also doesn't seem to be an install for the PlayStation 3 version, whereas you can dump the Xbox 360 version onto your hard drive if you've got 6.6 GB of free space.

I say all this just so you know that when I list the Xbox 360 version as being the better one, I'm only doing so because it was prettier. If you detest screen tearing, I'd recommend you stick with the PlayStation 3 version.

    2. PlayStation 3

being able to install is a big issue for me on the 360 but ps3 blu ray drive usually doesnt annoy me
I have a feeling they will paotch the tearing issue on the 360 soon and it will be the superior version.

7.8 isn't exactly a bad score on a rating system of 1-10, but then again the way videogames are rated it seems like any game below an eight isn't worth playing because there are so many high-rated games out right now.
