They're giving away Aviators and Navigators around here. Up to $14,000k off MSRP with all the rebates and after negotiations on both of them. Both are very nice rides.

The Navigator finally gets ride of the old four-speed for a new six-speed, but I'm not feeling the new front bumper and wheels...

I just love that plastic cover that breaks after a few months..and that faux wood just makes me cream my pantaloons.

It's obvious you've never been in either vehicle. Best exit the thread now before you make yourself look like a bigger fool.

    I have to concur. .
the old "domestic interiors are shit" routine, which I myself was a fan of, doesn't fly anymore.

I dunno, after valeting so many of them with broken covers myself (a lot of them removed by the customer) i can see what he means.

Both of these Lincolns have real metal and wood interiors, Ford did a good job on both of them. It's a shame they've gone virtually unnoticed.

is the Aviator an Explorer-based vehicle? I've always ASSUMED it was, but I dunno.

It is, and I hate the Explorer but love the Aviator. GM would have just rebadged a lesser product, Ford went through the trouble of re-engineering most of it.

and I agree. .they actually gave it all new sheetmetal (from what I can see) and an entirely new interior. . and prolly a shitload of other things :o

enough that I wasn't sure if it really WAS an Explorer. .

    I'd pimp one.

The dash covers felt pretty sturdy on them too. They probably break from abuse, not from normal usage. :dunno:
