If you are going to use a gun to defend yourself, use common sense and make sure you know what you're doing. This guy didn't, and he was on the losing end of the battle. :hsd: I've heard that the one suspect's injuries were life threatening though.

Just goes to prove how important training in stressful situations is.
Just about anyone can just stand there and leisurely shoot a paper target, but to dodge bullets while shooting a live target... that's a different ballgame.

At least he managed to hit the suspect which led to their capture. I know it is policy out here for hospitals to call the police on all GSW victims.

Sucks that the guy died, but I found this hilarious:

"At first they considered sticking up someone on the street but decided against it because they were afraid they might pick someone who was as broke as them, the report said."

Yeah if he would of had training he would of survuved without a scratch and all 3 bad guys would of taken 2 to the body and one to the head right?

This is how gun fights are in the real world. There is no guarentee, you do what you can to give yourself the best chance to survive.

Not enough info to even guess on how exactly how it went down, what would of been the "right" thing to do, and how prepared and motivated eveyone was.

I don't see how it was suggested he died because of lack of training in there at all. For all we know they got the jump on him and it was amazing that he still was able to shoot one of them.

Like my CCW instructor said "You may not win a gun fight, but make sure that you make it the other person's worst day too." The guy didn't back down, he stood up for himself. Even though he died, he didn't go out like a bitch and just hand over the money, and then get shot...
