about 30-40 psi depending on the engine. The engine this bad boy goes on is a Caterpillar 3500 series. Comes in 8 and 12 cylinder variety mostly. Depending on the application it goes in (fits in trains, boats, etc.) it can have 700-1500 HP and 4000-6500 lb. ft. of torque.

there's so many different uses for the engine, parts are not interchangeable. We have to get serial numbers before we start searching for any parts on these things. a full overhaul kit for one is usually about $40,000.

We're doing an engine overhaul on a 378' Coast Guard cutter right now, I'll upload some pictures of the two turbos we pulled yesterday. It'll make this one look like it would belong on a miata.

edit: Fuck it, I had some from a long time ago, here it is installed on the engine:

Two of those feed a supercharger, which is about 4 times bigger.

They are. Right now for me, the marine business is what's doing good. The trucking industry is very scattered right now!!!

Most of the marine I deal with are shrimp boats, tugboats, and vessels like that. Most have 3400 series CAT engines in them, with some Detroit Diesel thrown in here and there. I deal with a ton of 3406 and 3412s.
