just go away. Seriously.
It's the Military, you fucking moron.
I hate those that display an interest in joining but then throw in something about not wanting to be deployed.
I also can't stand those that hide out in non-deployable units.
its a volunteer military
if someone doesnt want to deploy and have lead flung over their head, its there decision
go volunteer for the red cross or some shit. joining the military encompasses giving your life so others may live free. take your pussified shit somewhere else.
Maybe a National Defense Force or something could be made so that people could protect America and its borders instead of fighting and dying in pointless wars that don't do anything for Americans. Not everyone gives a shit about the middle east or wants to be a world police force.
join your local Police Department then
that's supposed to be what the National Guard is for, unfortunately we have politicians that don't understand that concept.
Roger that. We always made it pretty clear to the new kids coming into our platoon that we were combat arms, not "free college money". Those who didn't want to play the game usually transfered out pretty quick.
i think this is one of the main reasons why active duty members have a thing against reservists/national guardsmen....even though its not a good reason because it doesnt completly apply to them....
I want to tell this girl that wants to join the NG (but not deploy) to take a hike, but I want the G-RAP money so bad. I almost have her hooked with the loan repayment program and stuff. Thinking about just telling her that we probably won't be deployed when we are supposed to be going to Afghanistan in '08.
Especially nowadays, if you sign up, you know damn well you will be deploying.
You know the point of the military is to fight right? If someone wanted to join the military but not fight, why would they be joining?
man thatd be a shitty thing to do
telling her we will deploy < telling her we won't deploy and getting $2000
2 grand? god damn youre right
Oh I forgot to mention I'll get one year of free medical coverage
thats a closed deal to me
When I found out what airframe and what unit I was at it wa set in stone I would never deploy, much less to Iraq. Well guess where I went?!?! Everyone will go. Accept it, love it.
then join the coast guard
nah I dont want to deploy to iraq. actually it's fine to deploy but i dont wanna go out there fight and shoot people. not the fighting type. let me do some technical job and i'm ok with it.
not joining for the benefits either. just wanna learn a couple years of technical experience then get out
