I think it would have been cool to be a guerilla/sniper in the Revolutionary War. It's a tie between that and WWII.

Some guys would say Iraq, so I wouldnt die.

Well, I just dont see the "war" in that. More like a slaughter with all the smart bombs and other shit we got.
Plus I really think that was the last US war really worth fighting for. And the men werent looked down upon like after Vietnam and there werent any "Thank God for dead soldiers" signs at their funerals

We learned something in school about the revolutionary war "snipers" I cant remember much though. I think their bores were either a little smaller or their musket balls were a little bigger and made for alot more accurate shot.

Had a lib teacher that used to get really graphical. Once he described how the injuns used to scalp people and exactly how they would torture people by boiling their guts while they were still alive

I think we should stick to issue stuff.

I dont think Id like being a Roman. I figure an arrow to the chest would suck more than a bullet to the head
I would love to be in the cockpit when they dropped the bombs on Japan.
Would be waving bye bye to half of the asian crew that never existed. I hate them and their incessant thread bumping til its dead.

Thankyou. Someone else here understands that the more toys you have the less of a war it is and it just becomes a turkey shoot. I mean who thought for an instant that the US was going to lose against Iraq?

I wish I could have been there to witness and take part in every major battle and offensive in the war. I wish I could have seen everything through everyones eyes. Even the jews, nazis, and gooks

Not the weapons that are going to make us lose in Iraq.. WWI-Korea flying was all about the pilots skills mostly, alot of the planes specs were pretty close, now a days its who's got the best weapons radar and longest misile ranges.

That's why I dislike all the robot technology that seems to be where warfare is currently headed. It'll have nothing to do with any kind of skill, just who has the best gadget.

If you want modern jet combat then 67 or 73 war with the IAF may of been fun. Don't think there was a whole lot of A2A combat in Vietnam.

My dad taped a few vhs tapes of star trek back in the 80s. I watched them nonstop once. There was this episode on there, where these 2 planets or civilizations were at war only they let their computers do the battling and then just sent the appropriate number of citizens into an incinerator on a conveyor or something similar to make up the casualties
Somehow I think the writers for that show were really smart

Also there was this one episode where there were 2 uncivilized tribes at war with one another and some humans (Ithink) came down from outer space and gave them more and more advanced weapons and they just ended up slaughtering eachother.
They did alot of preaching about vietnam through their shows

I wanna see the war through everyones eyes in the world. Even shit that noone was around to see. I wish I could experience it all.
But then again after seeing everything including holocaust only experience dying 6 million times I think I would slip into a permanent comatose state. Wouldnt be too bad though. Atleast I wouldnt be aware that any more of my rights were being taken away

i dont know about ww1, i think there were too many strategic mistakes made by over confident generals who couldnt wrap their head around the new trench warfare... unless i could go back and try to get them to consider a different plan.
