    a) using some premade layout like wordpress or joomla or whatever

    or

    b) just doing it all yourself

It's easy as hell to set up and also really easy to integrate your ads.

Plus there are so many useful plug ins.

    Ok cool.

I'm totally new to all of this. Are there different templates so your site doesn't look exactly the same as everyone else's? Also can you upload your own logo and stuff?

    wow thanks guys :bigthumb:

I see that some of them only have a little room for ads. Is it possible to customize which areas are used for ads?

Also, is the general theme of premade blog sites to show a bit of each article on the home page? They're all like:

    Title
    blah blah blah blah blah
    blah blah blah blah blah
    blah blah blah blah blah
    blah blah read more...

    -------
    TItle of previous article

    blah blah blah blah blah
    blah blah blah blah blah
    blah blah blah read more...

    -----
    etc.

What if you want all the articles listed out only by title, similar to something like Tucker Max or Maddox?

if there isn't an option for it.. look into making/customizing your own theme, or look for a theme that does that

you could do all of this with wordpress, it's just a matter of finding the right theme.

If you can think it, there's probably already a template for it. 2 columns, 3 columns, etc. Otherwise, with a few tweaks you can make a template into your own design to fit your needs.

One of my fav templates is the Revolution series. I use the Pro Media on one of my sites, and a tweaked version of it on another site I just started.
