If Nintendo released a retro console, would it sell?

Imagine a new console aimed at retro gamers, I'm assuming they could make it very cheap? It would be NES/SNES compatible, and new games would be released on cartridges. They could ship it with a dual game cartridge of Megaman 9/10 and start making more games like MM 9/10 exclusively for it.

Personally I would pre-order it right now.

Why would I buy this when I can run emulators?

If they made new games for it it wouldnt be retro anymore would it? Surely it would be a new console with a range of retro games ?

Wouldn't work because they would never make it very cheap, let alone at a reasonable price, especially if they'd have to start making cartidges for it. Plus they already do have retro games on current systems as downloadables, especially on PSN and Wii Virtual Console. From what I've heard games on Wii Virtual Console go for as much as $20 which is way too much for me unless they already lowered prices to $10 and under. I would never spend more than five dollars for a game that came out before PS1, and no more than ten dollars for a PS1 favorite, which is around what they go for on PSN.

It would be aimed towards retro gamers, they could "toss out" their old systems and just use this one. The new games would be aimed at retro gamers just like the new Megamans.

Install HomeBrew Browser and download the emulators they have on there.

You can download huge emulator packs you can run from a USB stick or whatever else..

No. Emulators are easy to find and can run on just about any PC.

I've seen systems at the mall occasionally that have things like Mario and Duck Hunt.

Basically, I don't think there would be any point, because the games are already out there.

I would kill a man to have every single N64 title re-released on a newer console with updated graphics. :hsd:
