If my muscles are sore...

    Should I not work those muscles until they are no longer sore? :dunno:


    I just recently started working out so I don't know shit :o

    Also does muscle soreness imply muscle growth?

    soreness is ok you don't want to be in pain though. if you can't move the next day your working too hard or too hard too soon. i'm not broly crew though, i just workout to stay in shape and be toned.

    Well the only exercise i used to get was like walking or biking a few blocks to the store to pick up some food or something.

    I was an alcoholic, 11 days sober now and decided a few days ago to start taking supplements/vitamins and being more active....

    So I've just been doing simple shit like, pullups a few times throughout the day whenever i pass my pullup bar, pushups, crunches... i went for 2 jogs (just 2 blocks) yesterday... and i did some punching bag workout yesterday too and I'm sore as hell all over :rofl:

    soreness doesn't really mean shit. I find that working through it is fine...especially if you do a light warm up beforehand. Some days I can barely walk, but once I'm in the gym loaded on caffeine with music blasting, the pain seems to disappear.

    Light active recovery always helps...whether it's walking, swimming, etc.

    if you've never done any kind of exercise before or havn't in a long ass time you're gonna be hurting when you get started

    no way around that

    Yeah but should I continue working or wait for the soreness to subside?

    I've heard you're supposed to let your muscles heal before working on them again... that's why you rotate which muscles you work on which days?

    doing some light activity again should actually help, get some blood flowing in those areas, etc

    stretch and/or do some light exercises to get blood bakc into the muscles.

    if chest is sore, so pushups.
    biceps are sore, do barbell curls with very very very light weight, etc.

    bodyweight squats for legs, light stuff.

    I don't know but I'm assuming she just already had 3 lip piercings and just stuck the needles through the already existing holes and used fake blood :dunno:

    I usually work through it. Last week I did some light lat stuff on tuesday and then thursday when I was supposed to hit my back hard my lats were so sore that they actually hurt when lifting. I just pushed through it but that was the first time a muscle actually truly hurt when lifting.

    i just started working back out a month or so ago and oh fuck yea this is true. after my first day working out with a friend that used to roid, i couldnt even straighten my arms or do anything useful with my upper body. hurt like a bitch too
