it 'helps you lose weight' because it fills you up for cheap & doesn't have fat or carbs, just protein.

the thing with cottage cheese is that it also has a high protein content which is needed for dieting. low fat cheese doesn't have as much i think...i could be wrong though, check it out next time you are at the grocery store

This is a stupid question, but I've never actually tried cottage cheese. Can the taste be compared to anything else?

it doesn't taste like cheese, the texture is something you might need to get used to, but i don't think the taste is bad...you will either love it or hate it

If you want it to be, sure. Skip the high-fat stuff, get low-fat or fat-free.
It's much better mixed with splenda/cinnamon though than plain, imo.

it's good, i eat it as I feel... i mix it in with gainer shakes sometimes

cottage cheese + chocolate protein > with cinnamon or splenda

i get fat-free cottage cheese from HEB, and its 0g fat, 4g sugars, and 14g protein per 1/2 cup serving.

in addition, cottage cheese is mostly slow-digesting casein proteins, so it keeps you feeling full longer.

It can be used in the same way as any other slow release protein can be used. It's not rocket surgery, just a good, natural source of protein that you can use to reach the targets you set in your diet.

    Just eat it :o

I honestly like it, plain or whatever. It's a texture thing for a lot of people I think..sweetening it up makes it more palatable since it then reminds them of pudding/ icecream.
