    ...this would be it.

Our city now has an official GT-40 replica retailer. There a little pricey but atleast its available, and possibly get a chance to see one on the road. The rolling chassis starts at $89,975(cdn) and ready to drive on the street begins at $99,975 and goes up to $149,975 (all prices plus freight and taxes).

Some of the stats/specs of the car:

Engine Ford V8 small block 289/302cid with aluminum heads, 351 can be used
Induction Holley 4 barrel or 4x 48IDF Webers or Injection system
Recommended power unit 347 stroker with approximately 400 bhpSAE.

    RBT 6 speed
Speed in gears at 6500rmp mph
    Ratios 1st 2.58 52
    2nd 1.61 83
    3rd 1.14 118
    4th 0.95 140
    5th 0.80 166
    6th 0.62 217
    Final drive 3.70

(approximate with 400hp and ZF transmission option using 7000rpm)
    0-30 mph 2.2 sec
    0-40 mph 3.2 sec
    0-50 mph 4.0 sec
    0-60 mph 4.5 sec
    0-100 mph 9.5 sec

I still find the height of these things incredible.

    Length 164.5”
    Width 70”
    Height 40.5”
    Wheelbase 95”
Dry Weight 2,350 lbs (incl. engine and gearbox)
    Ground Clearance 5”

Quote, "Let me describe the seating position for you. You're low, as in the roof of the CAV GT-40 comes to roughly the top of a Corvette door with the window down - get a tape measure out and pull out 40", that's how tall it is."

That would eat alot of cars on the road.

Kit cars get such a bad rap for being crap. But, if YOU'RE the guy putting it together, no one else to blame. Some kit cars can be one hell of a deal and FAF too. See above.

That's why I'd probably go with an Ultima GTR:

    or FFR GTM Mulsanne:

They can't be considered "fake" since they aren't actually a copy of any existing car.

Though, this Roush Coupe (replica built with Roush parts, 525hp, 525lb-ft) is so pretty I'm pretty sure Jesus would drive it:

An AC Cobra is also a pretty sweet kit car and they really aren't priced that high.
