if i want to be able to handle myself in a fight more, what exercises should i do?

    my ideas so far are that pushups are like a punch, and that running would help endurance/stamina.

    punching bag would probably be it and my gym has one but i dont really want to be "that guy". should i still go for it??? idk :hs:


    anyone have experience with training for boxing?

    You should go to a 24 hour fitness, talk to a trainer, tell them that's your goal and report back.

    The trainer at my 24 hour told me they could prepare you for anything. I'm pretty sure those guys know everything about fitness.

    If you don't want to be "that guy" go join a boxing gym and learn some proper technique.

    i wish i could, boxing is the best sport ever and would really help me out here, but i dont have a car with me and i dont have money to join.

    kinda liek a bar fight but just outside a party, i could have gotten into like 6 tonight but im just not real confident in my skills. im pretty sure i would have won though.

    I don't know what to say man, you can try and learn some technique through books and online but that will only get you so far. You won't be able to spar like you would at a boxing gym and you wouldn't get the right techniques down. Boxing gyms are relatively cheap compared to other sport/martial arts, I've seen some that go as low as $40 a month, it depends where you live and so forth. Is this for self-defense?

    Just avoid fights altogether, there's no good reason for a "bar fight" no matter how good you think the reason is unless you're defending yourself.

    you could have? You look for fights?:greddy: Hate to bust your balls but the people who are "looking" for fights are usually the one who get knocked the fuck out.

    You should just react on impulse.

    arent you like 140 lbs? you prob shouldnt be looking for fights. Its hardly ever worth it, even if you win do you know how easy it is to break your hand and fuck up all your workouts. Im a lil bit of a hypocrite cause when I was younger I got into too many fights but now that Im older I look back and realize i was being pretty gay

    Like everybody else said, go join boxing or some martial arts.
    Doesn't matter if you can bench 300lbs if you can't fight, you are most likely gonna get knocked the fuck out.
