Why is it I've never really met or heard of anyone with a decent physique that does this? Everyone that I've met or talked to who is big does a traditional split routine (bodypart once a week) or at least an upper/lower 4 days per week. I wonder why this is? Anyone know anyone who looks good and got there on a 3 day per week full body routine? Just curious...

Just because X is more popular than Y, X is not necessarily better than Y.

I'll have to give those full-body workouts a try one day... Next bulk, maybe.

I've gotten much stronger and bigger off a 3-day full body split than a bodypart split.

Maybe because its the best for most people (read: average fat/weak person). More advanced routines will net better results after a certain point, though I'm sure much of it is based on the individual (and his/her goals)

The 3 day a week full body workout is good for a change from the normal routine. The way I look at it, is if you stick on a workout, your body will get used to it and you will plateau.

I do fullbody workouts, but then again Im not that big. I tend to run too much to gain weight.

Right now I'm doing a 4-day week.. back and chest one day, day off, then bi's tri's and shoulders. I figure back and chest gets basically all upper body muscles, then I go hardcore arms to finish off the minor workout i got on them doing chest and back. and then i do shoulders like normal. and then just repeat. however i'm 6'7 and 222 and i've been bulking since i was about 215.

Keep in mind too that the one-bodypart-a-day bit corresponds to the advent of heavy juicing.

What about a 2x full body per week? doing a long workout on monday and friday and the days off in between for rest :dunno:

Right now I'm on a 3 day single muscle group split, it built me a good base, but I feel that the 7 day wait between training a part is too long. full body x2 would double my training, and save me travel time to the gym. I'm also considering a 4 day upper/lower/upper/lower split or a 4 day area split.
