I dont give a fuck what other people think, I knew the maxes were a solid choice, so basically I want 4 cubes with 60 sq inches of port?

LOUDSYSTEM, care to go over the differences in the different versions? And how I might be able to tell them apart?

I'm getting one from a friend and I'm interested in which version it is.

the new one looks much different

the main differences is the cooling and the way the driver is made the new one has many new features that assist in cooling the driver and the spider and surround/ cone etc all screw to the basket rather than using glue this allows for many things :) such as if you break it you can simply unscrew and screw in new cone etc OR say you buy 2 D4 id maxes cause your amp runs at 1 ohm mono and you decide its time for more power well you just order 2 D2 cones and unscrew old ones and install the new ones and presto no need to buy new subs

theres a pic of the new spider the black part in the middle ( around the voice coil ) is actual metal which helps dispate some heat

here is the sub with the cone etc installed more metal which also helps ( also note the weight of the cone is the same as the old max NO increase in moving mass)

and with the dust cap installed which is also metal

the id max also has a new cone material vs the old one

    basically V.3 > V.2 and most likely your friend has a v.2

Well is the V.2 BAD or anything? :( Or is it just not as good? I thought this was like the end-all be-all of subs but I keep reading some negative stuff about them. Do you think it will work good with the 165W3s?

The IDMAX does look like a pretty solid sub never heard one yet. I'm just suprised no one used them in a comp with enough power they could at least do mid 150's.
