I have this navigation menu that I am trying to program
Im just having trouble seeing how or what the best way
    would be to implement it.

I would like, as much as possible, to keep to the style on the
image (rounded corners / fading between the banner and the
slide up menu / colors / sub-menu block sliding up from
    behind the banner)

id guess that the z-index can put the menu behind the banner
except the fading at the bottom edge has me

I really just want to know the best method to accomplish this
...whether its just CSS, JS, flash, or cannot be done :ugh:

horizontal part is a banner that would have menu items
    like Home Links ...etc...
and the menu would pop up from behind the banner with sub menu items

    @ pic

Yeah, it's possible. It can be done entirely in CSS and jQuery. jQuery has slideup / slidedown methods that would easily be able to accomplish the animations and effects of your navigation. CSS would be responsible for the fades and rounded corners. Code the entire expanded menu in HTML/CSS first so you can visually see what you're working with. Then you can position your elements in CSS, set your z-index, and have jQuery control those elements.

Is that a "poop" inspired nav bar? Because I see lube and toys and that brown mess and think poop.
