So if I were to pick up a D90 body what would be a pretty good and all purpose lens stable to go with it?

    - Stock Nikon AF-S DX VR 18-105mm?
    - Nikon AF Nikkor 28mm f/2.8D?

mostly shoot architectural, streetscapes, and some landscapes also some small things like watches etc but I think the macro lens can come a little bit later... I like to shoot subjects in an abstract way. Will those two get me through most shooting situations? Thanks!

of those two, the 18-105 will fit you best. I'd recommend the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 though.

I have both of these lenses and shoot similar subjects. I've been using the 18-105 a lot more than the 28.

Another vote for the 17-50. I've got it on my D70s and worked really well when I was shooting nightlife for about a year.

    specifically the tamron 17-50.
not to get it confused w/ the nikon 17-55 or the nikon 18-55.

yeah. so that one should do me good for the majority of shooting? Then I can expand my collection later once I know exactly what I want to accomplish with the lenses.
