Is it possible to replace my floppy IDE cable with a regular IDE cable and hook it up to a hard drive instead? I'm all out of room on the IDE cable that has all of my hard drives/cdrom drives attached to it, and I have a hard drive I want to add.

    No.

You'll need to buy an IDE controller.

floppie drives are 34 pins, hard drives are 40, so that definately won't work. And you can only run 2 devices per ide cable, so as 5Gen_Prelude said, you need an IDE controller card or an external hard drive running off USB or firewire.
